Eastern Nepal is highly recognized for its diverse culture. This region is a perfect example of Unity in Diversity. People with the ethnic group of Brahmins, Chhetri, Newar, Rai, Limbu, Magar, Tamang, Sherpas, Tharu etc. resides here.

This region is very rich in arts. Chandi/Sakela, Dhan Nach, Hurra, Tamang Selo are some of the popular cultural dances of this region. Furthermore, this region is very famous for Thanka, the Buddhist painting on piece of cloth. People of this region often make Doko, from the bamboo shoots; Gundri, a mattress made from hay; Radi, a mattress prepared from the animal wool etc.
Udhauli, Ubhauli, Buddha Jayanti, Lhosar, Janai Purnima, Maghe Sankranti, Krishna Astami, Teej, Dasain and Tihar are some of the famous festival of Eastern Nepal.

Saregemba, Pork Sekuwa, Satu, Yak’s blood, Momos, Bagiya, Thukpa, Gundruk, Phapar, Dhindo, Sisnu are some of the famous food of this region.
